Our Mission, Our Future..
The Shasta Builders’ Exchange and the construction industry have a long history of being involved in the community. By the very nature of the business, we are frequently asked to build various community projects.
In 1997 the Board of Directors authorized the formation of a new corporation to serve as a nonprofit charitable foundation. Titled the SBE Community Fund and governed by members of the Exchange, its focus is to provide college scholarships to children of Exchange members and sponsor various community projects.
After the 2018 Carr Fire swept through Redding, the SBE Community Fund joined efforts with the NorCal Community Recovery Team, as the new fiscal agent, helping to spearhead the rebuilding of over 300 homes lost in the fire.
What We Do
Carr Fire Recovery
In partnership with the NorCal CRT, the SBE Community Fund has become the fiscal agent for Carr Fire rebuilding efforts, aiding in the rebuild of homes for those who were un/under-insured.
Community Projects
Community is vital to the success of our future sons and daughters. Therefore, we have and continue to invest in projects that enhance our already amazing community, building strength in the process.
Scholarships
The SBE Community Fund was established in 1997 to support the youth of Exchange members who wish to utilize the educational system as a means of obtaining the goals they have set for themselves.
Carr Fire Recovery. Rebuilding Hope One Home at a Time
In partnership with the NorCal CRT, the SBE Community Fund has become the fiscal agent for Carr Fire rebuilding efforts, aiding in the rebuild of homes for uninsured and under-insured homeowners. It is with great pleasure that we accepted the opportunity to restore hope in the lives of those who lost so much. We are honored to be part of something so amazing. For more information on how to get involved or volunteer, please call Chad Scott at 530-221-5556.

With Your Help, We are Making Shasta County a Better Place
As you take a look around Redding, and in every direction, you can find projects built voluntarily by the construction industry. For years the industry has donated time and resources to make Redding a better place to live and work. Each year our Board evaluates any number of community projects and selects the ones that best reflect the mission of our organization.
From community facilities, rebuilding homes, and scholarships we have a heart for community. With your help, we can ensure Shasta County remains a safe and beautiful place for our future generations of leaders.
Please help support our efforts within our community by donating to or promoting the SBE Community Fund. Watch our sons and daughters grow into leaders.

We Have the Power to Impact Our Future, and We’re Doing Something About It
The Shasta Builders’ Exchange Community Fund Scholarship Program has been established as a means to support and secure education for the children of SBE members who wish to utilize the educational system as a means of obtaining goals they have set for themselves. To date, the SBE Community Fund has contributed over $65,000 to children of Exchange members.
The SBE Community Fund Scholarship is open to the children of owners or key employees of regular members firms in good standing. A written recommendation from the firm’s owner must accompany applications from children of key employees. Application for scholarship funds may be made by students entering or continuing enrollment in a university, college, community college or trade school.
Selection of recipients is based on transcripts (GPA, SAT), achievements and leadership qualities. All finalists undergo a personal interview. The amount of money available is determined at the time the recipients are chosen. Scholarship money is distributed directly to the students upon receiving proofs of enrollment.
